Hearth and Home
Family traditions are what everything is built upon. My ancestral family is connected to the cauldron. Cooking, harvest rites, and the home are all connected to the cauldron, to traditions and family.
I was hoping to represent my ancestors well. I was thinking of how we, as humans, connect to the land through things we grow, eat, make. How we bring the land inside to make a “home.” I have been envisioning how we see a cauldron on the fire, in a hearth as a symbol of home.
I spent a lot of time thinking about patterns and holes for this project and how I could connect that to traditions. I tried to think of patterns that would represent time and ancestry as well as being utilitarian. Swirls of eons.
This cauldron is home.
